My husband and I were one of the casualties of losing our home in the mortgage crisis. After 34 years of always working steadily, he lost his job, shop truck, health insurance, gas card, cell phone......we lost our trailer, our home, but not our spirit. We rented a little house in the same town, which belonged to a friend of mine, and he gave me us Carte Blanche to do anything we wanted. We painted the walls, put in a new kitchen faucet fixture, ceiling fans, even fans out in the cute screened in sun porch, we mosaic tiled the bathroom, put up a salvaged mirror, new faucet in there, and custom window treatments, and VOILA! It was 'us' to a "T"...we even converted one of the bedrooms into the dogs room, complete with a/c and heating and a doggie door doing out to the fenced back yard for them.
