Finally a home of my own

Widowed 14yrs ago with 3 grown sons .. I lost my home to foreclosure. 14mths later I met someone who for the next 10yrs was a big part of my life. Unfortunately he was killed in a car accident. I moved back to Idaho , to my family and for the last two years plus ,I have been living in a rented room in houses belonging to first my son, then a friend. Nothing was my own.

I am 52yrs old, with a very limited income and due to health issues can no longer work. I got the opportunity to rent to own a 1993 mobile home. It is very run down ,was not taken care of and is a wreck on in the inside. However it is now MY wreck and on Oct 1st I will finally have my own front door. All of the carpets are badly stained, but now clean, even though they do not look it. The walls are a mess but can be painted and repaired, the rest of the trailer is sound.

It's not important that it still looks a mess, the important thing is I finally will have a home of my own and despite hand me down furniture that has seen better days and dishes etc that came from thrift stores it is mine. The best thing is the sense of accomplishment I feel. Little things like changing the door locks on my own and putting up shelving, to cleaning the disgusting mess left by the previous owners and it is starting to look like a home.
